A welcome greeting from our new minister Rev. Christine Smaller as she begins her ministry at Grace on May 24th, 2021.

Greetings to you all:

Thank you for the warm welcome that has already been extended to me and my family.  We have been eagerly awaiting the start of this brand-new pastoral relationship.
We are living in a time that feels strange and uncertain. In all aspects of life, we have been challenged to find new and meaningful ways to connect with one another.  Church is no exception.  Beginning a pastoral relationship "virtually" is a new thing, but I am confident we will figure out how to do it together. With God all things are possible!
I am excited that God has called us - you and me - into this new pastoral relationship. God is also inviting us to discern together how we can faithfully serve the community and the world.  In the coming weeks and months, we will explore what this might mean in the near future - and in the longer term.
My husband Mike and I have recently moved from downtown Toronto to main street Eugenia.  We are happily navigating the transition from urban life to village life.  We have planted a garden for the first time – and as long as the May snow doesn’t last, we hope to be eating homegrown tomatoes later in the summer.
My plan for our first few weeks together is to connect with you so we can "meet" and to start getting to know one another.  I will also be offering opportunities to gather virtually - to chat and to pray together and I’ll be sending out a newsy e-mail to the community in the coming weeks.

Please feel free to get in touch with me - even just to say hello.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Rev. Christine
