There are now consistent guidelines for recycling throughout Ontario.  For Grey County, the list of acceptable items has increased dramatically, particularly plastic bags of all kinds.  Specific details can be found on the Circular Materials website (Circular Materials).

The Town of Blue Mountains Waste Guide can be picked up from the town hall in Thornbury or is available online (Waste Resource Guide).  Surrounding townships will also be able to provide the same information.

The Grace Green Team recommends refusing any plastic whenever possible.  Choose your own containers, paper, tin, or aluminum and reuse all items as many times as possible.  Single use of anything is not part of the crucial Circular Economy.  For more information on limiting the use of plastic, contact Norine Baron at 519-599-2442

MILK BAGS:
The outer bags of milk can still be donated to make sleeping mats, contact                                              Barb Swanson at 519-599-3114

STAMPS:
Please save used postage stamps for the Oxfam Stamp Program, and contact                                      Norine Baron 519-599-2442

THE GRACE TRAVELLING GREEN TEAM:
Members of the Grace Green Team work at local community events, including the Beaver Valley Fall Fair and St. George's Anglican Church Fish Fry and Corn Roast, to: rinse reusable plates and cups brought by those having the meal; sort food remains and kitchen waste into compost, recycling and garbage; significantly reduce the amount of garbage going into landfills.

To arrange for the Grace Travelling Green Team to be a part of your community event, or further information on the Grace Green Team, contact Diana Dolmer at 519-378-4734

AT GRACE UNITED:
The Grace Green Team purchases environmentally safe cleaning and paper products for Grace United Church.  Recycling and compost instructions are posted throughout the church, with the expectation of rental groups and regular users to follow the instructions.
